At 8:14 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2013, High Point Fire District responded to a machine fire at Old Castle Lawn & Garden on High Point Church Rd. Firefighters arrived to find that a large elevated mulch processing machine was on fire. Old Castle has its own fire engine and employees had worked to extinguish the fire themselves but due to the height of the machine they were unable to get the water from their hose directly on the fire. High Point firefighters were able to use their ladder truck to reach and extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to other nearby equipment. (Photos by Tim Ballard)
