Old Angelus School Fire

posted on
At approximately 08:20 AM, Sunday December 1st firefighters from Sandhill Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at the old Angelus School building on Macedonia Angelus Rd. Upon receiving the alarm Sandhill Assistant Chief Jody Capps immediately requested assistance from High Point Fire District and Buffalo Mt. Pisgah Fire Department. When Asst. Chief Capps arrived on scene he found that the main building was completely engulfed in flames and realized it was beyond saving.  Capps ordered two hose teams to protect the community center building and a third hose team to protect the old gym building. All remaining responders set up a water shuttle operation to support the hose teams. No other buildings on the grounds were damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
